On behalf of the American Cancer Society and breast cancer patients and their families throughout Louisville thank you for the wonderful support you and your team members gave to the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event on Sunday, October 27, 2013. Your support enabled us to raise $600,000 to help people stay well, help people get well, to find cures and to fight back against breast cancer. Your enthusiasm made the day inspiring and fun. More than 18,000 walkers participated! Hundreds of survivors were recognized and many loved ones were remembered throughout the day with personal messages on signs and shirts.
Every Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event is an incredible and inspiring opportunity to unite as a community to honor breast cancer survivors, raise awareness about what we can do to reduce our breast cancer risk, and raise money to help the American Cancer Society fight the disease with breast cancer research, information and services, and access to mammograms for women who need them.
Since 1993, more than 9 million cancer charity walkers across the country have raised more than $528 million through Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events to help fight breast cancer. Last year alone, dedicated supporters like you raised $68 million nationwide to help the American Cancer Society save more lives to help finish the fight against the disease.
100 years of saving lives Today, the American Cancer Society is helping save more than 400 lives a day that would have otherwise been lost to cancer. We won't stop until we finish the fight.
Volunteer at an event Become a Making Strides volunteer! By joining the American Cancer Society volunteer family, you can make even more of an impact in the fight to end breast cancer.
