My Story of Hope

When I was diagnosed, I knew I would have a harder time mentally than physically. I'm the type of person who just can't sit still. Even though I felt so weak during treatment, I walked 40 miles a month and didn't take time off from work. Getting up in the morning and having goals to accomplish gave me strength.

You did it! You were a part of Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, and Terry Music, Chief Mission Delivery Officer of the American Cancer Society, wants to thank you. ...to the 12,000 participants who came out to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research and patient programs at the 10th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event.  Together, we've raised nearly $400,000* but we still need your help to reach our goal of $500,000.

The event may be over, but not the fight!  There is still time to contribute.  Here are some things you can do:

     * Keep the message going throughout the month of October for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We appreciate your help and celebrate all breast cancer survivors!
     * Continue to fundraise online with emails and updates to your friends, family and neighbors.
     * Attend and/or hold Strides events in your community.  Participate in a "Pink Sunday of Hope" at your place of worship.
     * Continue to check back on this page and the "Upcoming Events" page  for area-wide events supporting Making Strides.
