I'm walking for Tanya, Valli, Rose, Terri, Lisa, and all breast cancer patients.

Tanya--my friend, sister-in-law, and housemate--signed up as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk after her first bout with breast cancer. She became an ACS employee after that to help other cancer patients and to help prevent anyone else from having to experience cancer. However, the cancer returned, and in 2006, Tanya lost her second battle with breast cancer.

To continue Tanya's work and help make a difference, I'm participating in the walk on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Tempe Beach Park in Arizona.

The American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a noncompetitive walk supporting the American Cancer Society's unique mission to fight breast cancer on four fronts: research, education, advocacy, and service programs.
