Ashley Gidley's Story

My mom the SURVIVOR

About four years ago, the shock of a lifetime presented itself to me and my family. My mom was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. I was only 10 at the time. I can honestly say I never understood what fear was until I received that news. We knew it was going to be a struggle.

However, no matter the struggle, she was always so strong, optimistic, and bubbly. Even when she didn’t feel like being that way, she was. My mom is my hero, and people like her and any cancer survivors all need recognition. They’re all so strong! I look up to all of you!
