The American Cancer Society truly appreciates the hard work and dedicated efforts that Foot Locker, Inc. and its employees devote to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer each year.

Foot Locker, Inc., a global retailer of athletic shoes and apparel, which includes Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Champs Sports, and Footaction, is helping the American Cancer Society raise awareness and funds to fight breast cancer.

Foot Locker, Inc., is engaged in a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer cause marketing campaign and promotes the American Cancer Society’s guidelines for the early detection of breast cancer.

For 4 consecutive years, Foot Locker, Inc. has supported the American Cancer Society by conducting a Limited Edition Pink Ribbon Awareness cause marketing campaign in its retail stores. Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October (and continuing, while supplies last, through February 3, 2008), Footlocker will offer customers a customized, long-sleeved T-shirt and a coordinating baseball cap. In addition, Lady Footlocker stores and ladyfootlocker.com will also offer the following items: fleece hooded sweatshirt, polo shirt, a donation card, and a string bracelet with breast cancer information. All items will include messaging about the importance of detecting breast cancer early. A portion of the sale of each item will benefit the Society’s fight against cancer. In an effort to raise additional awareness, Foot Locker, Footaction, and Champs Sports will also air the Society’s breast cancer awareness television ad during October on their in-store monitors.

Additionally, 6,500 ladyfootlocker.com consumers will receive a breast cancer information kit from the American Cancer Society when they make any purchase on the Web site during the month of October. This easy-to-read kit provides information about the Society’s screening guidelines, getting a mammogram, prevention and ways to get involved in the Society’s breast cancer programs and events to fight back against the disease. It also contains mammogram reminder postcards that recipients can mail to friends and family as well as a write-on magnet that serves as an additional reminder to schedule this important test.

To date, Foot Locker, Inc., has raised more than $800,000 for the American Cancer Society through this cause marketing campaign.
