I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May of 2007. I knew immediately I would opt for a double mastectomy. I just wanted the cancer out of me! My tumor was 2" in size, but there was no lymph involvement. The next 6 weeks were agonizing as I waited for pathology results to determine my treatment. In the end, it was determined that inspite of the large tumor, it was DCIS. The tests were repeated and confirmed. I need no chemo and no radiation. My surgery was the only treatment needed. There are days I am very grateful and then other days I question if the results are accurate. In the meantime, I will rejoice in every cancer-free, treatment-free day I live!  --Vicki Edson Engelhardt, Middleburg, FL
