One in eight women is diagnosed with invasive breast cancer each year…and each year more and more women are surviving the disease. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is more than just a walk—it describes the progress we’re making together in the fight against this disease. We need your help to continue this progress! Sign up for Making Strides today and make a difference in the lives of women across the country. Hope starts with us.

On October 20, 2007, more than 21,000 participants joined together in Golden Gate Park and helped raise awareness and $1.6 million for the fight against this disease. Your contribution to Making Strides has made it the largest breast cancer walk in Northern California.

Because of this continued impact and success, the American Cancer Society is able to expand Making Strides into Silicon Valley, offering Bay Area Strides participants one of two locations to walk this October.

Though on separate weekends, these two walks are part of one Greater Bay Area event that will provide more choice for those who are committed to the fight against breast cancer.

Beulah and Carmen are breast cancer survivors. Geraldine has lost family members to the disease and wants to fight back. Susan watched her mother win the battle with breast cancer and wants others to know there is hope.

Like these women, we have all been affected by breast cancer in some way. And we all have the power to make a difference in the fight against the disease. That’s why these women, along with 500,000 other passionate supporters, walk in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer every year to help achieve a future where breast cancer no longer threatens those we love.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events have no registration fee and no fundraising minimum.
